He's REALLY trying to learn to stand up and do it, but I think he's a little intimidated. Just like in basketball where he won't "let go" unless he knows he can make the shot, he's only stepped up to the potty and held on, but not actually peed. Its going to happen...and for that I'm glad I have a carpet shampooer :D
Every day of my life is an adventure. From the morning wake-up to the last sigh as he gives himself up for sleep, my little Smidget keeps me guessing. He's a sweet man with a taste for mischief and a big ol' heart full of love. You'll fall in love with him too, if you're not careful!

Potty Training Continues---
He's REALLY trying to learn to stand up and do it, but I think he's a little intimidated. Exhausted Smidget...
He fell asleep eating dinner again (thats what he gets for refusing to nap!),
so I cleaned him up as best I could and put him to bed.
Smidget wants you to know that even manly-men can wear hot pink diapers (Thanks Amanda!!!)
This is a Thirsties AIO--and I'm fairly impressed with them and think they're great for day-time.
They aren't nearly absorbent enough for night-time, though.
These do NOT have pockets for doublers either.
Just for those who are looking into cloth dipes :D
All tucked in (yes, he keeps a soccer ball in his bed).
And those 3 books are his usual bed-time books (along with 2-3 others)
All by Sandra Boynton:
Fifteen Animals
The Barnyard Dance
But Not The Hippopotamus
The Going to Bed Book
Night, Night, Little Pookie

Balls, Balls and More Balls!
The Smidget posing.
This gift, courtesy of Auntie Nell, has been a BIG HIT around here...he's even learning how OCD Mama is about putting them away when we're done...although he gets bored half way through and decides to dive back in, sometimes. But he does spend a few minutes throwing the balls back---Mama knows the best way to create slave labor is to trick the slaves into thinking its a game :D :D :D

Playtime Fun.
My son has the cutest grin in the world.
Especially when he gets sooooooo excited and happy that the just closes his eyes and grins like a fool.
See, I have proof :D
and I think his face is getting longer and less rounded...does that mean soon he won't look like my baby?
At least he still has those big ol' cheeks :D As long as he has those he'll be my baby forever, right?
Right?

First Date

So, I let Smidget go off by himself at the park. I was watching him out of the corner of my eye and THIS is what I see...
My son standing in the corner of the park holding onto this little girl and snuggling her.
Her mom was texting her dad and Daddy was threatening to come beat up a little boy...
My son, the ladies man...

SMILES :D
Today we went to the park---Smidget had a BLAST.
Although, I learned he loves to get into trouble: He learned that its more fun to go down the slide head-first on his stomach and that climbing on anything and everything is more fun than using hand rails to keep from falling. All in all, he learned some new ways to scare me and showed me just how awesome it is to not care about anything but having fun.
Oh to be 1 again, haha.
Oh, and he decided to act like a little homeless beggar kid every time someone pulled out anything to eat---even though I'd JUST fed him a big lunch. *sigh* Also---his face is filthy because he rubbed his hands on my car and then rubbed his face. Clearly I need to wash my car this weekend.

Sleepy man!
Smidget decided today was a good day to not take a nap---soooo when he was eating dinner he passed out cold. So cold I managed to undress him, change his diaper, and transfer him to his bed (no, I didn't bother trying to clean his face).
Isn't that the cutest disgusting little filthy baby you've ever seen in your life?

Pool in January!
Today we took Smidget to the pool to get some swimming in. HE LOVED IT.
After a couple of hours of swimming in the 80 degree water (it was 70 degrees outside, but the pool was heated), he was starting to get tired and cranky, so we yanked him out, dried him off, and fed him some yogurt. As soon as he had food in his tummy he was nothing but smiles! He fell asleep on the way home. Good to know a full tummy and a day in the sun can still wear him out :D That will be very useful knowledge for me this summer :D
